SayPro Data Collection Guide: Surveys & Interviews
Purpose:
To collect reliable and valid data aligned with SayPro research objectives, using approved methods.
1. Preparation
- Define Objective: Clearly outline what you want to learn from the data collection.
- Choose Method: Decide whether a survey or interview is best based on the research question.
- SayPro Approval: Use SayPro-approved survey or interview templates/forms, or get your custom tools approved before use.
2. Designing the Survey/Interview
- Questions:
- Keep questions clear, concise, and unbiased.
- Use a mix of closed-ended (multiple choice, scales) and open-ended questions for depth.
- Avoid leading or ambiguous questions.
- Length:
- Surveys: Aim for 10-15 minutes max to maintain engagement.
- Interviews: Prepare an interview guide with key questions, allowing flexibility for follow-up.
- Consent:
- Include an informed consent statement explaining the purpose, confidentiality, and voluntary participation.
3. Conducting Data Collection
- Surveys:
